EYFS Remote Learning W/B 18th January 2021

Week Beginning 18th January 2021
We hope you had fun exploring the story of the Gingerbread Man last week, we enjoyed seeing your puppets and story maps on Tapestry. We could see from the photographs that you are all joining in with maths and phonics everyday - well done! We also liked hearing about the recipes you have helped to make at home, it made us hungry reading about them!
You have a maths, a phonics and a literacy activity to complete each day this week. There are more videos to help you, look for the links in the planning documents. There is also a new menu of Gingerbread Man themed activities for you choose from. This week they have a science focus, try to do at least two of them. It is important to stay active so join in with the PE activities in the 'Let's Get Active' section below.
You can watch whole school assemblies from Miss Bassett and Mr Henson here.
The Foundation Stage adults are choosing some of their favourite books to share with you on the Story Time page. You could watch one when you have s snack, just like we do at school!
Parents and Carers, learning activities in Foundation Stage are short and focused. We would expect them to last around 10 to 15 minutes with time for independent play in between each one. Where the planning shows an 'extra challenge', this is an optional activity to build on or practise the learning of the main activity. If you have any questions about the learning or you need support with the resources, contact us at: foundation@elystjohns.cambs.sch.uk

In this week's literacy we are continuing our work with Miss Doherty about The Gingerbread Man. Click on the link below to visit the Oak Academy website. If you joined in every day last week, you will be starting with lesson 6. Watch one video each day and join in with the activities. Make sure you watch them in order and keep your literacy work in your pink book.
When you have completed all of your daily learning activities, you can choose from the Learning Challenges. Some of these activities might take more than one day and you can do each of them more than once if you would like to. We are excited to see which challenges you choose!
