EYFS Remote Learning W/B 1st March 2021

Week Beginning 1st March 2021

We were very impressed by the posters created last week, some fantastic ideas for looking after our environment were shared. We have shared some of them in the gallery above. We could see that everyone had worked hard to complete the maths activities and shown a very good understanding of how to share an amount into equal groups. Well done! There are some fantastic photos of the maths on Tapestry, thank you for sharing them. The tea-parties with toys looked like a fun way to practise using the new knowledge.

We are very excited to know that everyone will be back to school on Monday 8th March. Take some time this week to talk with your family about coming back to school. What are you most excited about? Have you got any questions? If anything is worrying you about coming back to school, talk to an adult. You can ask Mr Meek and Miss Lloyd questions on Tapestry too.

This week you have a maths, a phonics and a literacy activity to complete each day, there are links to teaching videos for all three subjects in the planning below. Our maths is all about time and the ways in which we measure it. Some of the extra challenges are discussions about returning to school on Monday 8th, make sure to look at them.

In literacy we are starting the week learning about reading and writing labels. Thursday is World Book Day and we would like everyone to spend time sharing stories! We have put some links below to online story resources below and you can visit the World Book Day page on our website for activities and live events that you can join in with. Our themed learning challenges are all about machines, try to complete one or two of them this week as it will help you with our learning when we are back in school.

Remember...
You can watch whole school assemblies from Miss Bassett and Mr Henson here.
You can listen to the Foundation Stage adults read a story on the Story Time page. You could watch one when you have a snack, just like we do at school!

Parents and Carers, thank you for your ongoing enthusiasm and support for remote learning this term. We hope you and your child found the feedback email useful. If you have any questions or concerns about the school's full reopening, contact us at foundation@elystjohns.cambs.sch.uk or leave a message on Tapestry.

The first online event is on Wednesday so take a look at the link before then.
