Healthy Lifestyles Week 2018
26th June 2018
Last week we held our annual ESJ Healthy Lifestyles Week, and what a success it was!
It was great to see the children both in class and outside demonstrating what a healthy school we are. From den building to skipping, from relaxation time to eating freshly picked strawberries and cooking in our allotment, there were so many amazing activities happening each day. Year 3 also enjoyed their bike day, and even had a well earned outdoor treat in the nature garden.
Play times were so busy with skipping, speed stacking and speed bounce challenges happening every day. All these activities were run by school council members and their friends, and they did an excellent job.
One of the highlights of the week was the return of Wake Up Shake Up. The children who organised this did everything themselves- music choices, choreography and day to day organisation were all done by them, and so many children joined in each day. Even a few parents and members of staff took part in the morning sessions- well done and thank you! It was such a success that Wake Up Shake Up WILL be happening every week from now until the end of term, every Wednesday before school and at playtime.
Friday saw our silver trail in the Foundation Stage courtyard. A big thank you to everyone who managed to find a few coins lying around at home- we raised a whopping £84.66! School council will discuss ideas for spending the money on items to enhance our healthy lifestyles in school. If you have any ideas please pass them on to your school council representative.
Thank you to everyone for all their hard work and eagerness to join in all the activities. Parents, staff and of course our amazing children- the week would not have been such a great success without you!
