KS2 try out Korfball!

24th April 2019

Today we were very lucky to have a visit from Chris Brown who introduced us to korfball! Pupils from Year 3, 5 and 6 had a great time trying out new skills!

But what is korfball?

It is a game which requires basic skills of catching, passing, and playing in a team. Teams of 8 (four female players and four male players) try to shoot a ball into a korf (basket). You get to play in defence and attack several times in each match.

Originating in Holland, korfball is now played internationally in 57 different countries.

Ely has its own thriving korfball club – the Vikings!

Ely Vikings run sessions for U9, U11 and U14 players. They also enter local tournaments based in Cambridge.
