Our School Council consists of a representative from each class from Year 1 to Year 6. School Council reps are voted in by each class at the start of the year. Anyone can stand for election - just design a poster and speak to your class about why you'd like to be their representative on the School Council. We meet at least once each half-term, with meetings chaired by Mrs Jähnigen. Ideas and questions are then taken back by the reps to a class council discussion.
Here are photos of the current School Council. Can you spot the representative for your class?
Thank you to all the members of our School Council 2017/18. You did a fantastic job and are a hard act to follow ...
In June School Council helped to make HEALTHY LIFESTYLE WEEK an even bigger event this year. We asked to have free flow playtimes back and organised three activities that keep us fit and healthy - skipping, speed stacking and Wake Up Shake Up. With previous money raised we bought skipping ropes for KS1 and KS2 as well as a speed stacking set for each class at ESJ.
This year School Council took part in three fundraising activities - the Christmas Fayre, the Second Hand Book Sale and the Summer Fayre. At this year's Summer Fayre we raised £100 for the school!
Read all about our other activities in our meeting minutes below.
