Introduction

Here we have a 'family feel' to our school despite being quite large. We all take an interest in each other and care for each other.

We take pride in our lovely building and the people inside it and create a happy, purposeful environment for our learning.

We set a high standard of expectation for both behaviour and for achievement and the children rise to the challenge.

We endeavour to provide a curriculum that acknowledges the importance of the basic skills, alongside finding time for a broad and exciting curriculum. We have a strong commitment to using the outdoor environment in school, as well as making use of the wealth of resources and places to visit in the surrounding locality, as an extension to classrooms and as a way to enrich learning further.

We provide many enrichment activities outside of core teaching time to enable the children to develop skills and talents that interest them.

The outdoor environment is as important to our learning as the indoors and outdoor learning is a key element in our curriculum.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our school website and encourage you to make direct contact with the school should you not find what you are looking for. Our office staff will give you a warm welcome and have a wealth of information!

We are always happy to welcome visitors to the school.

In short - we are very proud of all the people in the Ely St John's family who, between them, have created a happy, purposeful school. Please read on or visit our website to discover more about our day to day work and activities.
