Year 2 Blog 2019-2020
On Friday 24th January Miss Jordan’s class visited Witchford Village College for their Circus Skills Festival.
We had a lot of fun trying out all sorts of activities, such as juggling, using diabolos and spinning plates.
Some of the activities were new to us and quite tricky, but we all tried our hardest and didn’t give up!
Feast of Fenland Workshop
On the 17th September, Ely Museum visited Year 2 at school.
We learned all about where our food comes from and found out which of our foods could be grown locally in The Fens.
We found out about the process of growing crops, right through from ploughing to harvesting.
We did some dressing up, learned to sing songs and tasted some foods with locally grown ingredients. We also visited the market stall and bought some vegetables to take home.
We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about our local area and its farming history.
During the first half of term, we learned about Flanimals.
Flanimals are made-up creatures with all kinds of strange features and habits. They come from a book written by Ricky Gervais.
We had a great time designing and making our own Flanimals and habitats for them to live in. We also wrote some amazing fact files all about them.
