Performing Arts

Music is very important to us at Ely St John's Primary School. Children have many opportunities to take part in musical activities ranging from whole school weekly singing assemblies to individual instrumental lessons... there is something for everybody!

Children in KS2 are able to join the Choir as an extra-curricular activity, learning many songs, focusing on the musical aspect of performing. The Choir takes part in many events and concerts throughout the school year.

For child in year 3 and and upwards, through our partnership with Cambridgeshire Music, we can offer lessons for;

  • Brass (Trombone and Trumpets)
  • Woodwind (Flute or Clarinet)
  • Cello
  • Violin
(We also host Guitar and Piano tuition. We also have performance and dance clubs.)

Instrumentalists are able to join the Orchestra, playing together and performing to audiences. The Orchestra rehearses together every week, before school.

We also host informal concerts and performances throughout the year, so that the children can show case their talents.

For more details of recent performance, competetions etc please see our recent newsletters.
