The EJ Way is at the heart of everything we do.
Its five statements embody the values, attitudes and behaviour we feel create a foundation for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship.
The EJ Way
We are excited to learn new things.
We know how to share thoughts and feelings.
We look after each other.
We are proud to work together.
We are kind to ourselves.
At Ely St. John’s, we aim to ensure that all children have equal access to broad, balanced, relevant and stimulating teaching, underpinned by a nurturing, therapeutic approach in which every child and adult feels valued, safe and secure.
We believe in the importance of learning outdoors as well as indoors and recognise the fragility of our environment and our role as guardians for future generations.
In all areas of school life, we are proud to actively promote social, spiritual, cultural, and moral development, with the overall purpose of preparing our pupils for life in today’s modern society.
We have high but realistic expectations of each child, aiming to develop enquiring minds and skills of independence alongside encouraging children to take responsibility for their learning and behaviour.
Ultimately, our goal is to create a school community everyone wants to be part of and feels they belong in.
