Year 6 Summer Blog

Sports Day.

We cannot begin to tell you how extremely proud we are of all the Year 6 children during our Sports days this week. Their organisation and efficiency was incredible, but more than that, their caring manner was evident on every single day. They supported, encouraged and guided each group of children from all year groups through their sports day experience. They truly embodied our EJ Way.

We have had lots of positive praise received from both parents and staff to say what a great job they did. Well done Year 6!
English - The Fox and the Star.

This term, we have been reading The Fox and the Star, by Coralie Bickford Smith. It is a  heartwarming tale of friendship and bravery. From EYFS to Year 6, we have all been studying the same book, and producing writing based on the story.

Today, we were very lucky to be able to go to Foundation Stage, and share our stories with the children. First, Foundation children put on a marvellous show, re-telling the story of The Fox and the Star, with incredible actions, to our Year 6's. Then, our Year 6's read stories to the foundation children that they had written themselves. Based on our whole school writing unit, our Year 6 children wrote stories called 'The Owl and the Moon.'
