Maths Overview: 

 

We are continuing to learn about money. We will be adding amounts of money together using the column method. We will also be finding the difference between two amounts and calculating change. We will use our method of drawing hundreds, tens and ones to help us. Towards the end of the week, we will incorporate what we know about fractions and we will be solving some word problems.   

 

 

Literacy Overview: 

 

We are learning to use adjectives and contractions in our writing.

Maths Overview: 

 

We are learning about Money. Children should be able to recognise and name different coins and notes. Children should understand about pounds and pence and be able to read and write amounts in both pounds and pence, using the £ and p signs. They should be able to compare amounts of money using the >, < and = signs. Children should be able to add amounts of money together to make different totals and make the same total in different ways. 

 

 

Literacy Overview: 

 

Research about the Great Fire of London. 

 

Working towards:

  • Learning key facts about this historic event.
  • Understanding the significance of Samuel Pepys in the event.
  • Being able to sequence the events of The Great Fire of London.
  • Have an understanding of what 17th Century London was like.
